1, Overview
1. Treatment: Propolis is in a collagen state, which softens and is not easily broken when heated. Therefore, before crushing, the hair glue is frozen and hardened at 1-4 ºC, and then crushed into blocks.
2. Soaking: Add the raw rubber block to 95% ethanol, mix and soak in a ratio of 3:7 for 24 hours, continuously stirring in the middle. After the raw rubber is completely dissolved in ethanol, remove the precipitated beeswax and bottom sediment, and then further filter the filtrate.
3. Filtration: Due to the excessive amount of ineffective ingredients in propolis, harmful substances such as impurities and heavy metals that are insoluble in ethanol are usually removed before extraction. Generally, multi-layer filter cloth is used for multi-level filtration, and finally, diatomaceous earth filter is used to remove microorganisms and heavy metals from the supernatant.
4. Extraction: After filtration, the propolis solution is concentrated at a temperature of 35 ºC under a vacuum degree exceeding -0.095Mpa. The temperature will increase with the increase of concentration.
In the extraction process, in order to fully recover alcohol, the temperature and flow rate of cooling water are important. The lower the temperature of cooling water, the greater the flow rate, which is more favorable for the alcohol recovery process.
After extraction, ethanol is recycled to the recycling tank on the right, while propolis remains in the concentration tank. At this time, propolis is in a viscous state and should be discharged while it is hot.
